It is difficult to find out which chapter of the S.E.S (Sociedade do Espirito Santo - Society of the Holy Spirit) actually assembled this cookbook. Currently, there is an active Portuguese hall in Ferndale, California (less than 10 miles from Fortuna) and in Arcata, California (about 45-minute drive from Fortuna) The only reference of location in the book is where the Annual Convention was being held which was the Fortuna River Lodge. However, I can not find any information that a Portuguese Hall ever existed in Fortuna.
